If you want to improve your financial status, reading financial blogs are a great place to start. Here are three of my favorite blogs to check out before the year ends. They are written by women, for women and offer some great resources to help answer your questions about money, see where you may have gotten off course, and give you the resources you need to reach your financial goals.
Finance Over 50
This blog is a great resource for women over 50 or “late-savers”. I love it because it is a source of hope and encouragement for women who may feel they’ve missed their chance to improve their money situation. There is plenty of helpful information about side hustles, building an emergency fund, and even estate planning and saving for retirement. It’s never too early to start planning for retirement so this information proves helpful for women at any stage in life, not just those over 50. I also really like the faith-centered articles like this one that help you keep God top-of-mind no matter where you are in your personal finance journey.
The Financial Mechanic
If you’ve ever heard of the FIRE movement, then this blog is a great resource. FIRE is an acronym for Financial Independence Retire Early. The author blogs about her FIRE journey providing us with a real-life case study. She openly shares her financial plan with details about her expenses and savings. Her spending reports include everything from hauls from Trader Joe’s grocery store and expenses made while dating. The Financial Mechanic doesn’t just talk money but also addresses the mindset shifts you may go through on your journey to financial independence. You’ll find plenty of motivation to help you stay the course. That alone is a good reason to check out this blog.
Being Woman
Chioma Oparadike is the blogger of Being Woman. Her lifestyle blog is written with single women of faith in mind. You’ll find great content on increasing productivity and money management from a biblical perspective. The site even offers a daily productivity checklist that you can sign up for and access for free. Like Chioma, I believe that being fiscally responsible affords us the opportunity to live out our God-given purpose. When we are free from the burden of debt, we can live a more fulfilled life and bless others with our gifts.
